Unleash The Bug! Revolution of Roach and Magician!

Welcome back, readers! Today, I'm making my second attempt to revive my writing passion and rekindle our shared love for Yu-Gi-Oh through this blog. In this post, we'll delve into a long-forgotten monster that many may have forgotten. Thanks to the newest Expansion Pack, Duelist Nexus (DUNE), we can now play it again and compete with other archetypes. Let's jump right in!

"A large, spherical roach that attacks its enemies by rolling over them."

This monster was initially released in Japan in 1999 as part of the Volume 6 booster pack. It's interesting to note that this booster pack is quite old, with the highest rarity card being Thousand Dragon. This card itself is over 20 years old. Fortunately, you can still find this card at a relatively cheap price on online markets.

Without further delay, let's move on to the deck list. Here is an example:

For the online decklist, you can visit this YGOPro Website to check the specific effects of each card in this deck.

If you are interested in playing this deck, I can show you one of the combos that can be executed with this deck.

Hand

1x Magical Meltdown/Terraforming

1x Tuning/ Revolution Synchron

Combo Steps:

  1. Activate Terraforming to search for the essential field spell, Magical Meltdown, and utilize the Tuning spell card to add Revolution Synchron from your deck to your hand.
  2. With Magical Meltdown in play, search for Aleister the Invoker, a pivotal card for invoking powerful fusion creatures with the Invocation spell card.
  3. Synchro summon the majestic Ancient Fairy Dragon using Revolution Synchron, and activate its effect to destroy Magical Meltdown, paving the way for the forthcoming Giant Ball Park.
  4. Invoke the power of Revolution Synchron from the graveyard, resurrecting it as a Level 1 tuner on the field.
  5. Synchro summon Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon, combining the might of Ancient Fairy Dragon and Revolution Synchron, presenting an unstoppable force on the field.
  6. Unleash the potential of Invocation, banishing both Aleister the Invoker and Ancient Fairy Dragon from the graveyard to invoke the extraordinary Invoked Mechaba, the embodiment of pure magical prowess.

Final Board

1x Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon

1x Invoked Mechaba

This deck utilizes bug monsters to summon Synchro monsters from the Extra Deck. Xeno Meteorus allows you to Special Summon Baronne De Fleur, and Revolution Synchron enables you to Special Summon Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon. These two monsters have strong effects in the current meta.

Let me show you one combo with Xeno Meteorus and bug monsters on this deck

Hand

1x Ground Xeno

1x Gokipole

Combo Steps

  1. Activate Ground Xeno to search Xeno Meteorus from your deck. As the second effect of Ground Xeno resolves, you must destroy one card from your hand. Select and destroy Gokipole from your hand.
  2. Since a card was destroyed while Xeno Meteorus was in your hand, you can activate its effect to Special Summon itself to the field. Simultaneously, when Gokipole is sent to the graveyard, its effect to search for a Level 4 or lower Bug-Type Monster from the deck is triggered. You can choose to search for either Gokipole or Shiny Black "C" Commander.
  3. Gokipole's effect continues, allowing you to Special Summon the added Normal Monster to the field. If your opponent has a monster with higher ATK than the Special Summoned monster, you can also destroy it.
  4. Gokipole's effect continue, since you add Normal Monster, you can special summon it to field. If your opponent have monster with Attack higher than monster you special summon, you can destroy it too.
  5. The effect of Xeno Meteorus to summon itself is resolved, resulting in having one Level 6 Tuner monster and one Level 4 non-Tuner monster on field. Combine these two monsters to Synchro Summon Baronne De Fleur from your Extra Deck.
Final Board

1x Baronne De Fleur

The Field Spell Giant Ball Park is indeed a valuable card in this deck as it can generate an abundance of Level 4 monsters on the field. This can greatly assist with the Synchro summoning using Revolution Synchron and Xeno Meteorus. Additionally, Inzektor Picofalena can be utilized to replenish bug monsters in your deck, further enhancing the deck's consistency and potential for plays.

Now, let's move on to discussing the cost of building this deck. Surprisingly, this deck can be quite expensive, even with the current exchange rate of 120 Japanese Yen. As usual, I will be using the Yuyutei website to compile the price list for this deck.

you can check this google sheet for online view and check Yuyutei Link on each card

To be honest, I am surprised that every non-staple part of this deck is expensive. Both Shiny Black "C" Commander and Ground Xeno are priced at 780 yen each. So, I suggest that if you want to build this deck in real life, make sure you have all the cards required. Let's hope that in the future, the expensive parts of this deck will be reprinted and become more affordable.

Well, that's all from me for today's post. I hope this post sparks your interest in playing Yu-Gi-Oh! Remember, it's not always about winning; it's also about having fun and experimenting.

Thanks reading and happy dueling!
