The (R)evolution of Mathematic

=================================
Molten forms, with spirits aflame,
Evoltile's ascent, a resolute claim.
Through trials endured, battles hard-won,
Evolzar emerged, fusion begun.

Within the realm where cards entwine,
Their legacy's light, a saga divine.
Evoltile to Evolzar, soaring on high,
Victory's echo, touching the sky.
===================================

Hello everyone! Welcome back to this week's new blog post. I hope you're still filled with a strong spirit and are enjoying life. This week, just like before, I'm excited to share a new and fun deck idea that you can play and build with your friends in real life.

Since KONAMI released the Duelist Revolution and Age of Overlord booster packs last month, we've seen numerous support cards that have revitalized even non-Tier 1 archetypes, making them more playable. In today's post, we're revisiting a card from Duelist Nexus that has breathed new life into an older archetype.

from reptile to Dragon

Let's delve into the Evol archetype, which consists of Reptile, Dinosaur, and Dragon-type monsters. The name itself reflects their playstyle, revolving around the concept of evolution. Starting from lower-level Reptile monsters, they evolve into dinosaurs and ultimately culminate in powerful Dragon monsters. The Evol archetype, particularly their final evolution monster Evolzar, has been feared since the advent of the XYZ era due to their formidable effects.

The support for the Evol archetype continues to this day. In the Duelist Nexus (DUNE) Booster pack, the Evols receive even more support, elevating the archetype's strength. Introducing the Evolsaur Lios.

Evolsaur Lios boasts two potent effects. The first lets you search for Evo-Singularity, a trap card that can special summon an Evolzar from the Extra Deck without the traditional XYZ summon. This is achieved by attaching an Evolsaur and an Evoltile from the graveyard. Its second effect, just as formidable, lets you dump one Evolsaur or Evoltile from your deck to the graveyard once per turn.

So, how do you manage to dump both an Evolsaur and an Evoltile in a single turn? The easiest approach is to send Evolsaur Lios from the field to the graveyard. Whether you use Lios for summoning an Extra Deck monster or as part of an effect's cost, either method works. What matters is successfully sending Lios to the graveyard, enabling you to activate Evo-Singularity in the subsequent turn by attaching Evolsaur Lios and Evoltile from the graveyard.

Now, before we dive into further discussions about strategies and combos, let's take a look at the decklist.

With this decklist, we essentially transform the Evolsaur archetype into an engine for a Mathmech deck. This serves as a means to summon powerful monsters such as Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon or Mathmech XYZ monsters. I'll now present two fundamental combos for this deck:

Combo 1: Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon Combo

 Hand:

1x Evo Diversity / Evolsaur Lios / Evoltile Megachirela

1x Tuning / Revolution Synchron

1x 1 random card (if you have Evoltile Megachirela in hand)

Steps:

Search Evolsaur Lios with Evo Diversity and Normal Summon Evolsaur Lios or Evoltile Megachirela. If you summon Evoltile Megachirela, activate its effect by discarding 1 card from your hand to special summon Evolsaur Lios from your deck.

Activate Lios's effect and set 1 Evo-Singularity from your deck. Use its second effect to send 1 Evoltile Megachirela from your deck.

Activate Tuning, adding 1 Revolution Synchron from your deck. Use it to Synchro Summon Ancient Pixie Dragon with Evolsaur Lios on the field.

With Ancient Pixie Dragon on the field, activate Revolution Synchron's second effect, sending the top card of your deck to special summon Revolution Synchron from your graveyard as a level 1 tuner.

Synchro summon Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon using Ancient Pixie Dragon and Revolution Synchron.

End your turn.

During the next draw phase, activate Evo-Singularity. Attach both Evoltile Megachirela and Evolsaur Lios to Evolzar Lars from your Extra Deck.

Final Field:

1x Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon

1x Evolzar Lars

Combo 2: Mathmech Route

Hand:

1x Evolsaur Lios / Evo Diversity / Evoltile Megachirela

1x Sakitama

Steps:

  • Search and Normal Summon Evolsaur Lios. Activate its effect to set Evo-Singularity from your deck. Use its second effect to dump Evoltile Megachirela to the graveyard.
  • Activate Sakitama's effect from your hand. Extra Normal Summon Sakitama to the field.
  • Use both monsters to XYZ Summon Primatech Alembertian. When special summoned, detach 2 XYZ materials to add a Cyberse Monster, Mathmech Circular, from your deck to your hand.
  • Activate Circular's effect, sending Mathmech Nabla to the graveyard to special summon Circular to the field.
  • Use Alembertian's second effect to tribute itself and special summon Mathmech Nabla from your graveyard. This triggers Circular's second effect, allowing you to add Mathmech Superfactorial to your hand.
  • Activate Mathmech Nabla's effect, tributing itself to special summon Mathmech Diameter from your deck.
  • Use both monsters to summon Timethief Redoer, S:P Little Night, or Psy-Frame Omega.
  • Set Mathmech Superfactorial and end your turn.
  • During the next draw phase, activate Evo-Singularity to special summon Evolzar Lars and attach Evolsaur Lios and Evoltile Megachirela to it.
  • Activate Mathmech Superfactorial. Choose its effect to XYZ summon Primathmech Laplacian using Mathmech Diameter, Mathmech Nabla, and Mathmech Circular.
  • Activate Laplacian's effect to detach 3 materials, sending 1 S/T card, 1 monster, and 1 card from your opponent's hand to the graveyard.

Final Field:

1x S:P Little Night / Psy-Frame Omega

1x Evolzar Lars

1x Primathmech Laplacian

Impressive, isn't it? With these two combos, you can easily control the field. While this deck can be countered by cards like Lava Golem, Kaiju, or Kurikara, it only requires a minimum of 2 cards to complete the combo. To further bolster control, you might consider adding cards like Solemn Strike or Solemn Judgment.

Now, let's delve into the deck's price.

you can check this deckprice or check its single card online on this link

Excluding the cost of staple cards and Extra Deck components, this decklist is quite budget-friendly. If my calculations are correct, the core deck costs less than 500,000 Indonesian Rupiah. If you're looking to build a cost-effective yet enjoyable deck, this could be a great option.

That wraps up this post. I hope you've enjoyed my take on the synergy between Evolsaur and Mathmech. May this inspire you to play this deck in real life. Thank you for reading and happy dueling!
