==========================
Beneath ancient suns, in days of yore,
Four descendants stood, Horus' lore.
'Midst the strife unknown, their spirits aglow,
Nouvelles' feasts joined, a radiant flow.
A symphony of battles, they waged with might,
Descendants and chefs, woven tight.
Feasts and valor danced, hand in hand,
Triumphant they stood, a victorious band.

Hello, fellow duelists! Welcome back to our weekly decklist extravaganza. Today, we're diving deep into the incredible versatility of the Horus Archetype, straight out of the Age of Overlord (AGOV) booster pack. This archetype is not just beautiful; it packs a powerful punch, and it's a shame not to build a deck around these magnificent creatures.
The AGOV Horus Archetype boasts a unique engine that allows players to summon up to 4 Level 8 monsters onto their field. But what makes this engine truly formidable is its continuous spell, which can be activated up to 4 times a turn, enabling you to unleash a torrent of Horus monsters. And that's not all – the Horus Archetype comes with its very own tutor, the mighty Imsetys Glory of Horus.
the 4 sons of Horus |
Let's dive even deeper into the wonders of this fantastic archetype. In my previous post, I only scratched the surface, but today, we'll unearth the hidden gems that make the Horus Archetype truly shine.
- Imsetys Glory of Horus – The First Horus Ascendant
This legendary Egyptian mythological creature serves as the tutor for this incredible archetype. With three impressive abilities, Imsetys can summon itself from the graveyard when you control the Sarcophagus, boasting a whopping 3000 attack. Now that's a formidable beatstick you don't want to mess with!
But wait, there's more! Imsetys can also send itself and another card from your hand to search for Sarcophagus. Not only does this allow you to summon Imsetys from the graveyard, but you also get to draw an extra card, replenishing your hand. The best part? This effect comes at no cost, making it even more powerful and versatile.
- Qebehsunef, Aegis of Horus – The Second Horus Ascendant
While Qebehsunef might not be as versatile as Imsetys, it's no less essential in the Horus Archetype. The ability to summon this majestic creature from the graveyard when you control the Sarcophagus is nothing short of extraordinary. And that's not all – its second effect ensures that your Horus monsters remain untouchable, as they cannot be targeted for attacks or effects until the end of the turn.
- Hapy, Vanguard of Horus – The Third Ascendant
With its secondary effect, Hapy adds an extra layer of legitimacy to this archetype. Trigger its effect, and you can return two cards from the grave or banished zone back to your deck or hand. Gain an advantage when faced with your opponent's effects that might otherwise lead to card loss – talk about a strong card!
- Duamutef, Blessing of Horus – The Fourth Ascendant
Duamutef is a true enigma – a tricky yet strong card. Its attack power depends on the number of Horus monsters on the field, including itself. So while it may appear weak when standing alone, this beast gets a mighty power boost when accompanied by other Horus monsters. Its attack power can skyrocket to an impressive 6000 attack points, and its secondary effect allows you to replenish your hand. Talk about a powerful combo!
Now, let's spice things up even further with a table highlighting the advantages of each monster:
Are you ready to move on to the decklist? As the title suggests, we're infusing a "Restaurant" theme into this deck, so prepare to be delighted by the culinary delights we have in store for you!
While it is funny, we dont have to worry about that! We don't really need Hungry Burger on the field to whip up a winning strategy. The Nouvelle ritual monster itself is more than enough to cook up a fierce deck. And with the Horus monsters being Level 8, we can easily tribute them as a cost for the ritual summon of our beloved Nouvelles Monster.
One of the many advantages of ritual monsters is that they come with their own tutor – the Preparation of Rites and Pre-Preparation of Rites. These powerful cards allow us to search for any ritual cards and replenish our hand after Horus discard our hand with their effects. With this synergy, we always have an abundance of cards at our disposal to activate Sarcophagus' effect.
Now, brace yourselves for a delightful combo that this deck can serve up:
Hand
1x Pre-preparation of rites1x Diviner of Herald1x Imsetys, Glory of Horus
How
- Activate Pre-preparation of rites and add Buirialabasse and Recette de poison fish.
- Normal summon Diviner of Herald, send Herald of Arclight from the extra deck, and activate its effect to search for Balaumenere de Nouvelles.
- Discard Buirialabasse and Imsetys to the graveyard, search for Pharaoh Sarcophagus, and draw 1 card.
- Activate Recette de poison, ritual summon Balaumenere by tributing Diviner Herald. Since Diviner is tributed, you can special summon Poisonnere de Nouvelles by its effect.
- Balaumenere's effect activates, and you get to search for Nouvelles Restaurant "At Table" field spell, while Poisonerre's effect lets you add Chef's Special Recipe trap cards.
- Activate the field spell to search for the Chef's Special Recipe Counter trap card.
- Activate Pharaoh Sarcophagus and its effect to discard 1 card from your hand and dump Hapy/Qebehsunef/Duamutef to the grave.
- Special summon both Imsetys and Duamutef to the field.
- XYZ summon Imsetys and Duamutef into Draglubion, activating its effect to special summon Titanic Galaxy to the field.
- Set 2 counter traps on the field.
Voilà! Your final field is a masterpiece:
1x Draglubion1x Number 38: Hope Harbinger Dragon Titanic Galaxy1x Balameuniere de Nouvelles2x Chef's Special Recipe1x Poisonnere de Nouvelles
Isn't it just mouthwatering? But wait, there's more! You can also spice things up by changing the Draglubion Combo with Gigantic Champion Sargas to search for Regulus Therion from your deck. Then, XYZ summon Sargas and Nouvele de Poison to special summon SP: Little Night. After that, special summon Regulus Therion by equipping Sargas from the graveyard as an equip spell card.
Okay, now lets continue our journey with Horus and Nouvelle by reviewing their total price to build. As usual, i already create googlesheet to calculate how much their cost are. Check this out!

Seems like our creativity this time also need extra fund to support it. The Herald of Diviner is quite pricy and we play 3 copies in this decklist. The Therion is also quite expensive so if you want to reduce price of this deck, you can take that cards out and played another card for example Lightning Storm or Monster reborn. For the Herald of Diviner, you can replace it with Manju the Thousand Hand as it can also search both Ritual Monster or Ritual Spell card but with cheaper price.
I also tried to make the lower budget version of this deck. Obviously, this deck is not as explosive as the first deck but still worth to try. i replace Herald of DIviner with Manju the Ten Thousand Hand and remove Therion cards from this, replaced by Assault Synchron and tuning to access level 10 Synchro monster such as Baronne de Fleur. Check this deck list
you can check the decklist online here
with this decklist, we can reduce the budget almost half from previous deck. I already calculated the price of the decklist and we get the cheaper version of this horus burger.

Bon appétit, my fellow duelists! The Horus Archetype has taken on a delectable new form, transforming into a fast food extravaganza. So grab your cards, prepare your deck, and let's duel with a side order of culinary flair! Thanks for reading and Happy dueling!
