Lets Play DRUMP ! (a new card game from creator of Yu-Gi-Oh!) updated with english translation rule!

jadi ceritanya, Pengarang sekaligus pencipta konsep Children's Card Game yugioh, Kazuki Takahasi, bulan ini merilis sebuah manga One-Shot berjudul Drump. Drump berasal dari permainan 2 kata yaitu Dragon dan Trump. dan sesuai dengan namanya, manga ini berkaitan dengan kartu Trump (poker) dan Dragon.

Sekilas kalau kita melihat deskripsi dari gambar diatas, konsep ceritanya mengingatkan kita pada jalan cerita Yugioh original, dimana seorang pemuda mendapatkan ancient artifact dan karena artifact tersebut dirinya mendapati dirinya dalam petualangan baru yang tak pernah ia jalani sebelumnya 

lalu bagaimana cara bermain game Drump ini? berikut adalah beberapa peraturan dasar yang telah ditranslasi oleh facebook page Yugioh Edition Singapore, berikut adalah link originalnya  :

1. The game is played using a full deck of poker cards
2. You start with 5 cards in hand and draw 1 card each turn
3. Aim of the game is to collect all 4 parts of a dragon of head, wing, body and tail (10, Jack, Queen, King of a suit)
4. Ace to 9 are "Force cards", which 
5. You can place a dragon part from your hand by discarding 2 or more cards with the same value as the dragon part (E.g. 9 + 3 makes for Queen which is a value of 12. On an extra note, Ace has a value of 11)
6. You can only place 1 Force card and 1 dragon part each turn on the field. You can also place a Force card on top of another Force card.
7. Force cards can also be used for attacking and blocking (Which is kinda complicated here so i wont go into details. Basically failed attacks means your force cards goes into your opponent's force zone, while successful attacks clears cards from the force zone and you draw a card.
8. There's also various additional gameplay rules like Extra Jack and Reccyle.

jadi simpelnya, tujuan dari game ini adalah mengumpulkan kartu 10, Jack, Queen, dan King di arena. akan tetapi untuk memanggil kartu tersebut, kita harus membuang 2 kartu dari field  (disini disebut sebagia Force Card) yang nilainya sama besar dengan kartu yang hendak kita panggil (misalkan hendak memanggil kartu 10, maka kita harus membuang atau mengorbankan 2 kartu yang jumlahnya 10. misal 6 dan 4). 

lalu ada juga konsep "attack and defense" dimana ketika kita hendak mencoba memanggil kartu part naga, kartu Force Card bisa kita hancurkan. mungkin sedikit membingungkan, akan tetapi dibawah akan gw berikan video tutorial gameplay dari "Drump" dan semoga memudahkan kita untuk mengerti peraturan dari permainan Drump tersebut.

 bagaimana? tertarik bermain DRUMP? bagi kalian yang penasaran dengan game kreasi dari Kazuki Takahashi, bisa mencoba memainkan game ini. menurut gw, game ini cukup simpel kok dan fun untuk dimainkan. jadi bisa kita mainkan kalau sedang bosan bermain Vanguard atau Yugioh sekalipun.

What you need in DRUMP
Prepare 52 trump cards without the Joker. Stick the special DRUMP stickers on the 10 ~ K cards that is included in WJ issue 49 and you’re set!!

Force Cards:
The cards from A ~ 9 are called “Force Cards” and by placing them on the field, you can summon monster parts or use it to attack your opponent.

Monster Part Cards:
The cards from 10 ~ K are different species of monsters and the suits represent the head, wing, body and tail parts. When you collect all 4 parts, you become a DRUMP and you win! You can still win even if the parts of the monsters (the suits) are different!

10 = Chimera, J(11) = Hydra, Q(12) = Pegasus, K(13) = Dragon

Game Field
The cards you use in the game have a different purpose so, place them accordingly on the field.

1 - Force Zone:
You can have up to 4 sections to place your A ~ 9 Force Cards. The cards placed here are used to summon monster parts.
2 - Monster Parts Zone:
The place to put your monster parts after using your force cards to summon. When you get all 4 parts, you win!
3 - Deck Set:
In “DRUMP”, you only use 1 set of trump cards, which will be your deck. Place your deck, face down during your match.
4 - Used cards:
After using your force cards or monster part cards to summon or attack, you place those cards here.

Preparing your Game
After preparing your cards for DRUMP, follow the instruction below to set up your game.
1- Shuffle your cards well and then place them on the Deck Set.
2- Draw 5 cards from the top to each player.
3- Do rock, scissor, paper in order to decide who goes first.
Draw 1 card for every time it is your turn.

To proceed the game, you take turns. Each time your turn comes, you can draw 1 card from the deck.
Put your cards on the field!

To win, you place your force cards you have in your hand and collect all your monster parts as quick as possible!

1- Calling your Force Cards
The force cards you have in your hand can be used as a cost to call monster parts. In order to do that, you place your force cards on the force zone. You can put up to 4 force cards on the force zone.
You can only put 1 force card on 1 force zone per turn so be careful.
If you want to add a second force card on the same force zone, you need to place it face down.

2- Calling your Monster Part Cards
You can summon the monster part that is the total of the 2 or more force cards placed on the same force zone. Once the part is summoned, the force cards used to summon will be put in the used cards zone.
You can summon only one monster part per turn.

(*note*- so if you have a 3 (face up) with a 9 (face down) card, the sum will be 12 so you can summon one Queen (12) card.)

The Ace can be used as 1 or 11!

It is the player’s decision to use the Ace as either 1 or 11. However, if you use the Ace as an 11, you cannot summon a Jack with only one Ace card. In order to summon monster parts, you have to use more than two force cards on the same force field.

Turn end
If you have more than 6 cards at the end of your turn, you have to throw your cards away to make it 5!
When you run out of things to do at your turn, state your turn is over and let your opponent take their turn. Every turn, if you have more than 6 cards, select cards you don’t need, and discard them.
Attacking and Blocking

By attacking your opponent’s force zone, you can decrease the opponent’s cost to summon monster parts and stop them from winning!

Attack: 
You can attack once per turn. You can use your force cards in your hand to attack your opponent’s force zone. If there’s a card that is placed face down, they have to turn it over when it is attacked. According to the total of the cards, the results may chance. In the case an Ace is set face down, the user can choose whether the card is worth a 1 or 11.
*You can only use Force Cards to attack!*

Use your Force Card in your hand to attack.
Turn the card that is faced down, up and calculate the sum.
- If the total is 13 or under, the attack fails.

When the attack fails, the card that was used to attack will be left in the opponent’s force zone and will become theirs.
- If the total is 14 or over, the attack succeeds.

Along with the card you used to attack, the attacked card will be placed in the used card zone. The attacker can then draw 1 card.

Block:
The player that was attacked can use a card in their hand to block.
If the number of the card is higher than the card used to attack, you succeed in blocking.
*You can use all cards to block!* (use the values X=10, J=11, Q=12, K=13 if you want to use monster parts to block)

Use a higher number to block the opponent’s attack card.

Draw a card once you succeed in blocking!
- The player who is attacking can also block as well!

In the case your attack is blocked, if you have an even higher number card in your hand, you can use that card as well. In this case, you are allowed to use all cards! This blocking method will be used until one person cannot defend any more. The one who has the higher number will be the one who succeeds and will be able to draw a card.

- The strongest attacker/defender is the Ace!!

The Ace is the strongest card and is guaranteed success in attacking or blocking.
Extra Jack

Each player and throw away their Ace in their hand per turn and summon a J monster part in the monster part zone. The Extra Jack method can be used even after you summoned a monster part in your turn already.
Recycle

By throwing away your monster parts from your hand, you can either draw a card from the deck or take a monster part that was already in the used pile. You can “recycle” twice within one turn.

To win
Get the Head, Wing, Body, Tail to DRUMP!
Once you get all four monster parts, shout “DRUMP!” and state your victory to your opponent! In the case the person who began the game gets the DRUMP first, the one who started later will be granted one extra turn. If the later person also gets a DRUMP, you can determine victory by the suits and scores.

If both players get a DRUMP…
- Victory using the suits:
If you manage to collect all the parts with the same suits, you are closer to winning! The winner is determined by which suit is stronger. All K’s will be stronger than all X’s.
- Victory using Scores:
If both players don’t have all matching suits, calculate the sum of all the monster parts and the person with the higher number is the winner. The J is worth only 5 points so be careful.
X = 10, J = 5, Q = 12, K = 13
If you run out of cards…
In the case both players cannot get a drump and there are no more cards left in the deck, the sum of the monster parts on the field will become the overall score.


DRUMP rules Q&A
Q1- Can you put force cards that add up to more than 14 on one force card zone?
No. For each force card zone, the sum of the cards on that field can be only 13 or under.
Q2- When my card on the force card zone is attacked, if the sum of the card that attacked and card that was attacked is under 13, can I still block it?
No. If the sum of the card that attacked and the card that was attacked is under 13, the player that was attacked does not need to block and the attack will fail.
